ArtBox Project

Artbox is an initiative to reduce graffiti on the City’s traffic signal boxes, beautify neighbourhoods, and support local artists. The initiative showcases artworks installed on traffic signal boxes across the Gold Coast.

Traffic signal boxes can be targeted with graffiti due to their visible locations at major intersections. To counter this, the City delivers Artbox by engaging with local artists, schools and community groups to install artwork onto the boxes with high quality laminate. These works have used bright and bold elements with little blank space and fun, novel imagery to incorporate the brief and work to deter graffiti.
