Cryptoarcheology

Cryptoarcheology explores how meaning mutates over time—how language, images, and symbols become distorted, misread, or reassembled into something entirely new. Lewis employs digital assemblages as a key technique in this series, constructing layered, hybrid landscapes from reconfigured images, sculptural fragments, and digital debris.

These works move beyond traditional collage, embracing glitch, repetition, and reconstruction to question fixed narratives. Through this process, Lewis unearths new associations and opens up a space where past, present, and imagined futures converge. Each assemblage acts as both a speculative artifact and a blueprint for potential meaning.
