About the event
Balaclava Sewing Circles are an activist space for friendship, conversation, and crafting revolutions. Participants can start a balaclava from scratch or rework and embellish one of our blank bases using repurposed materials.
As we make, we share stories about the hard shit, stories of visibility and invisibility. We ask: Who is seen? Who gets to be seen? And by whom? Let’s chat about the structures that shape whose bodies are visible, protected, or erased in contemporary Australia. But above all, let’s centre friendship, care, and connection.
Participation is recommended for people aged 18 years and over.
