About the event
Balaclava Sewing Circles are an activist space for friendship, conversation, and crafting small revolutions with our hearts and hands. Participants can start a balaclava from scratch or rework and embellish one of our blank bases using repurposed materials.
As we make, we share stories of visibility and invisibility. We ask: Who is seen? Who gets to be seen? And by whom? These questions gently but deliberately prod at the structures that shape whose bodies are visible, protected, or erased in contemporary Australia. But first and foremost, this space is about friendship.
GC Creative Spaces is a City of Gold Coast initiative to connect creatives with space to thrive and connect with the creative community #GCCreativeSpaces #CreativeGold
